School year off to smooth start
MARION OAKS - Shortly before 7 a.m., the lobby of Marion County’s newest elementary school was eerily deserted for the first day of school. Few people walked the hallways of Marion Oaks Elementary, which was scheduled to open in just 45 minutes. But then teachers — many pulling rolling crates — began streaming into the immaculate new school.
